Granny Chic...

Have you met the lovely Emma Lamb? She is a crocheter, photographer and knitting crafter with a soft spot for cocker spaniels. She is also the brain behind the flickr group 'Granny Chic'. I don't know about you, but for me there is many a lovely pic to oooh and ahhh over there.
Even if all this inspiration in only leading to another home wares crisis...

The Strawberry Farm...

Have you ever been to the Strawberry Farm at Pimpama? I was so excited about our impending trip. It has been several years since last we visited and a couple of years ago they suffered a fire. Now the actual Strawberry farm is gone, leaving the cafe and petting enclosures.
So while you can no longer pick your own strawberries, you can enjoy all sorts of strawberry goodness - everything from punnets of fresh strawberries to berry covered Pavlova, or strawberry sundaes and ice-cream.
But something else has changed. Something feels different.
There are still some animals in the petting area.
Big grumpy old goats. A cow.
Three excited white kids.
Two young chickens and two guinea pigs which share a small enclosure with a broken roof.
It feels like the farm has lost it's heart. It looks unkept and unloved.
Maybe time has just made my memories of the place a little blurred?
Maybe it has always been like this?
Or maybe one day it will return to its former glory?
Have you been to the Pimpama Strawberry Farm? What did you think?

A goat stood on my foot...

Which is not something I can say every day.
But my husband has a bottle of Moet and is waiting for me to drink it with him, so I will share the rest of the pics tomorrow. Hope your all having a great time too.

I love op-shopping...

Another trip to the Doctors yesterday and a quick stop in to the op-shop next to the chemist while the script was being filled...
Sitting in the window and obviously just waiting for me was this 'Cat in the Hat' tin lunch box, wearing a $1.50 price tag on it's handle.
I'm sure that Cohen will eventually fill it with all kinds of goodies, maybe even his lunch.
I'm playing along with Blogtoberfest.
Day 3.

Still...

Today I would like some stillness.
Some quiet time.
And an empty 'to do' list...
Alas, life goes on whether you are up to it or not.
Things need to be done.
There is a birthday party tomorrow night.

Sniff, sniff...

Can this count as My Creative Space?
If you do not have children I suggest you look away now.

Last Saturday we spent another morning at the hospital. Cohen had woken up with a very high temperature, a puffy face and red underneath his eyes. He was cranky and kept crying and given that he has had staph recently we didn't want to risk not seeing a Doctor, so off to the hospital we went. While in the waiting room he smiled and laughed. Once in the emergency pediatrics ward Cohen slept like an angel in a cot and we waited for the Doctor. Why don't children look sick when you get them to the hospital?
(While we waited I kept my hands busy with some crochet. When the Doctor appeared she commented on my 'knitting'.)
Cohen was examined and observed. It turns out is was just a cold.
Hmmm.... "Just a cold". So, not life threatening, but you may feel like you are going to die?
He is irritable, has a nasty cough and his nose is running like a tap and he cries every time you try and wipe it.
(It seems he would much rather have snot in his hair and some how on the back of his pants, than to let his nose be wiped.)
Guess who caught the cold next? Cough, cough, cough.
Uh huh, me. I was so run down and exhausted it is little wonder.
But oh my, what a nasty cold it is. I don't remember ever having a cold as bad as this. Do they just feel worse as you get older?
-
To add insult to injury I can not get the 'child safe' lid off Cohen's snotty nose medicine. It seems that after being opened a few times it no longer works. Great. Just great.

I have joined in with Blogtoberfest as well and hope to make a post a day. I will try not to make every post about Cohen... really...
