Here are some photos from the bench of a large Carnelian ring for a commission. The stone is the clients own, it is approx. 26 x 16mm in size and a lovely amber honey colour. We chose a split shouldered shank to support the stone and a full bezel setting, with a floral design saw pierced in the back plate. Tool marks from the making of the piece were also intentionally left on the backplate, so as not to completely erase the handmade nature of the piece.

It's a large and lovely dress/ cocktail ring and something I would wear myself. The last photo shows the way the light moves though the stone and the way the design beneath is revealed.

Time for the final polish.
